About Us
REASON BEHIND TO START THIS ASHRAM:
Once I was coming from Potta Devine Retreat Centre, I had to go to Palghat for some other work. When I was waiting to catch a train, I had seen a horrible vision happened near railway station. The horrible scene was that some mental patients that are wandering in the street rushed near the public dustbin and picked their food and started eating as if they are not human beings. I was disappointed and thought immediately to safeguard this people. In future if I take any remedial measures definitely it becomes real service of God and I was decided to start this Seon Ashram Trust. And also I shared this matter with my family members. They were also supported to start this view and challenged work of this charitable service. Hence we have looked after around 65 God’s children in our home.
It has also drawn the attention of countless people who visit this place with appreciation. The Govt/Officials and the non-Governmental Organizations have appreciated the good work done by this Institution. In the year 2003 we have received the awards from the Hon. Governor of Karnataka and from the Hon. Chief Minister of Karnataka .In 2005 we have received the award from NRI Welfare Society, New Delhi. It has received around 20 awards. Year after year Seon Ashram is becoming popular for its self-less service and drawing the attention of people from far and near. At present here there are 330 God’s children. There are 30 staff members to look after them. These children are provided food, medicine, clothes and accommodation, free of cost. (Mt: 25:31-40).
BACKGROUND PROFILE OF THE INSTITUTION:
Seon Ashram is a residential and rehabilitative centre for the mentally retarded, physically handicapped, aged, mentally ill, orphan school going children and infants. A trust, which is having its concern for the sick and the suffering people. It was started in March 1999. It has served hundreds of (1091) patients without discrimination of caste and creed. They were wandering on the roads, sheltering in bus stands and railway stations, eating thrown out food from the garbage. Such destitutes are brought to the Ashram, cleaned, provided food, and shelter, clothing and necessary medical treatment. Majorities of them are patients. They are from different parts of India. Their languages, customs and religions are different. But here they live as members of the one family and most of them cured and went to home.
YOU TOO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THIS MINISTRY:
The members of the sharing fund can donate as much as they can every month or yearly or in a lump sum of form the corpus of the fund. This fund is exclusively used to meet the expenses of the God’s children. Thus all the benefactors (members) of the sharing fund are actually participating in the proclamation of the gospel of our lord. (L.K.14:12-14) “When you give a lunch or a dinner, don’t invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your rich neighbours for they will invite you back and in this way you will be paid for what you did, when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame and blind; and you will blessed, because they are not able to pay you back. God will repay you on the day the good people rise from death.”
YOU CAN ALSO PARTICIPATED BY:
• Pray and introduce about the “Sharing Fund” to others for the growth of peoples participation in it.
